Project Asmodeus takes you through a dramatic audial retelling of the events that transpire within the Andromedan Comic Book series "The Shell-shocked Saint". It is a story about finding the Thrones of the Gods... but also of much more than that.

In the year 2666BB the Galaxy of Andromeda has been politically conglomerated into one ruling class called "The Saints", who rule over all governing bodies in Andromedan Space from behind the shadows. We find ourselves at the precipice of a profound unknowing of our place in the known Universe, and The Saints were completely displeased with this lack of knowledge. Setting out to dethrone what they knew at the time as a precursor race called the Asmodeans - those who shaped Andromeda and the known Universe to their whims. They employed 6 denizens of the Andromeda Galaxy and a human from the Milky Way to take on this task, known as The Units, who commanded giant wetware mechanoids that resembled various creatures of Andromeda and the Milky Way.

The Units were 01 Anima, 02 Dichotomy, 03 Trinity, 04 The Fool, 05 Evangelist, 06 Freyja, and the ringleader 07 Xerxes. The plan was to source enough power through amalgamating planes of reality into The Saints base, use the power of the available "throwaway planets" in Andromeda, and eventually sacrifice all of the units but Xerxes in order to open the Gateway to the Asmodean Walkway.

ANIMA

Anima was a female Sordian soldier named Gya Kerh born on Heralac V. She had conquered the plane of Umbral by the time of the gate opening, having fought valiantly against the Buzzings - insectoid like creatures that seemed to defy conventional laws of flight. She was also the first of the Units to discover what was dubbed a Xenanean Artifact - the Wyrm That Birthed Eons.

DICHOTOMY

Dichotomy was a male Ctho'chll-Human child soldier named Sea Sias from the desert planet of Caan. He was the third of the Units to discover a Xenanean Artifact, having found the Xenanean Fields of Glass a realm of wonderment and little danger but immense power. Sea Sias was known for his traumatic past playing a big role in how his Unit functioned, having been brought up in an insanely hostile environment, and being one of the only members of the team to have previously piloted any Mech (his father's). The Unit was unstable from the start and had, at first, malfunctioned due to his overwhelming PTSD - killing 56 staff members of The Saints operation before becoming stable and under control.

TRINITY

Trinity was an eponymous artifical intelligence, they were - before becoming a unit - once a Warlord of Heralac I after the planet had been overtaken by beings known as Rifts created by the original inhabitants of Heralac I. They were offered the chance of more power, and thus took it willingly. Trinity was one of the more ruthless of the Units having conquered two planes known to The Saints (the Gyuto and Hnk realms) and glassing several planets in Andromeda to source energy without contention.

THE FOOL

The Fool was a comatose and unresponsive human from the Milky Way who was being used as a test subject by The Saints, they found use for him in his unique invulnerability as a human to place his consciousness inside Unit-04. Having helped open the Scar of Asmodeus by aiding in the death of Unit-05, he revealed himself as a willing participant to the actions of Xerxes near the end and accepted his fate of death as a needed inevitability.

EVANGELIST

Evangelist was a preacher of great wealth and status before becoming Unit-05, having started his own religion based on lies he had been fed by The Saints and he himself believed - he was a zealot of the utmost tragedy and depravity. Having successfully eradicated 63 planets of life through means of indoctrinating the populations entirely and forcing them to perform ritualistic suicide he was the catalyst of The Last Asmodean, Yaldabaoth, revealing their self to destroy Unit-05 and unwillingly help Xerxes open the Scar of Asmodeus.

FREYJA

Little is known about Freyja's personal details other than she was the wife of whoever Xerxes was before any of this had transpired. She traveled alongside Xerxes in the final moments and took her own life by driving The Spear of B'il Sabab through her chest in order to act as the conduit to open the gate.

XERXES

Xerxes is, akin to Freyja, a complete mystery. (S)he was a ruthless psychopath who fought vehemently to achieve the goal of The Saints, and had spent their entire life as a Unit destroying and devouring planets and realms with no remorse. Their wife, Freyja, was equally as disturbed. Upon entering the Asmodean Walkway and using Freyja as the Conduit to finally dethrone the Asmodeans he was met with the grim fact that the Asmodeans had somehow vanished. That the Thrones of the Gods were empty and totally barren. The whole thing had been for naught and Xerxes had no way of getting out of this empty void no matter how hard they tried. The final words decoded by The Saints were as follows:

"I'm a shell-shocked saint, you know? I don't feel anything now. I felt something, then it was gone. The rush of adrenaline? The feeling of loss? The mourning of my wife? But now... I feel void of anything. I'm going to shut down the Unit, but before I do... know this: we are alone in our plight. We are alone. It's so good to see you again..."
